New Quiz Challenge in Haiti Highlights Severe Weather Phenomenon
As part of its ongoing “Did you know?” series, HaitiLibre has introduced a new quiz challenge that educates participants about severe weather phenomena. One highlighted topic is the tornado, defined as a rapidly rotating column of air connected to the base of a storm cloud.
The quiz explains that tornadoes arise from extremely violent winds and typically form under cumulonimbus storm clouds. While they are usually short-lived and smaller in diameter compared to cyclones, their destructive potential along their paths can be significant.
According to meteorologists, tornadoes develop under conditions of marked atmospheric instability and high wind shear at elevated altitudes. To detect such phenomena, meteorologists employ Doppler radar systems that monitor cloud rotations and issue timely alerts to protect communities from potential disasters.
This information is part of the educational material accompanying the quiz answers. The “Did you know?” series aims to enhance general knowledge about various topics related to Haiti and beyond. Quiz participants can explore a wide range of subjects, available in both French and English.
On November 1, 2026, HaitiLibre announced that it added 30 new games to its quiz platform, raising the total available games to 300, with a cumulative total of 3,000 questions. New games will continue to be introduced monthly. The platform is designed for all audiences and offers three levels of difficulty for each quiz.
Participants can access the quizzes without registration, encouraging everyone to engage and learn. The platform invites users to share feedback and suggestions through a form available at the end of each game.
For those interested in exploring new knowledge and challenges, HaitiLibre encourages visitors to explore their quiz site and recommend it to friends and family.
