Lehigh University will host Virginia Tech for a highly anticipated wrestling matchup on Friday, featuring two ranked teams: No. 12 Lehigh and No. 5 Virginia Tech. The event will take place at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, starting at 7 p.m. ET.
The spotlight will be on the 141-pound bout, where Virginia Tech’s freshman standout Bo Bassett, fresh off a world championship victory at 65kg, will face off against Lehigh’s Luke Stanich. Bassett’s recent achievement makes him the first American to win in that weight class in two decades. Meanwhile, Stanich, who defeated Bassett three times last year and won the U20 world championship at the same weight, will look to extend his winning streak.
While Bassett has yet to compete in a collegiate match for the Hokies, Stanich opened his season strong, winning all five of his matches by technical fall at the Princeton Open last Sunday.
Fans can watch the Lehigh vs. Virginia Tech match via live stream on FloWrestling, as it will not be aired on traditional television. A subscription allows viewers to access not only the live event but also replays and other wrestling content.
For fans interested in future events, Lehigh’s wrestling schedule includes matches against Indiana on November 7 at 4 p.m. ET, and participating in the Journeymen Collegiate Classic on November 8 at 9 a.m. ET. Virginia Tech will compete next against The Citadel on November 19 at 7 p.m. ET.
